Can’t live without…

Hello! Today we are creating a top ten list of things you can’t live without. So grab your pen/pencil and start brainstorming.

Here’s some background–for my college application I had to create a top ten list about a theme/topic of my choice. This took a lot of brainstorming, but then I thought–what’s better than writing about things I love and am grateful for.

Creating this list made me dive into memories to really pinpoint the things I truly can’t live without. I think it’s SO important to have a physical list in front of you of the things you are grateful for & love because sometimes these things get lost in all the madness of our thoughts. Knowing that you have this physical list will lead you to a happier life (if you choose to focus on them).

Write down what you love most in the world, and focus on each thing more in the future.

To start, I just brainstormed in a notebook and wrote down the first things that came to mind. Then I shifted my thinking to “what do I use everyday” or “what do I depend on.” This then narrows your train of thought into finding things you most depend on, and probably can’t live without.

Finally, here is my list.

Top 10 Things I Can’t Live Without:

10.  A garden element in my room (such as succulents or hanging faux vines) - nature keeps me calm and centered

9. My nail file and portable nail salon

8. Guilty pleasures: Sourdough bread, sharp cheddar cheese, Redvines and Blue Icee

7. My four labs

6. Music… the perfect playlist, singing at the top of my lungs, my guitar

5. The color yellow

4. My to-do list for the week

3. My gratitude journal and photo books

2. An organized closet with neatly folded clothes and a color-coded system for hangers

1. Meaningful arts & crafts projects, including photo collages, jewelry and homemade birthday gifts

Now its your turn to try!

xoxo, MH:)
